GC Caviton is a surface-hardening, hydraulic temporary filling material designed for the short-term sealing of cavities. It is specifically formulated to harden upon contact with moisture (saliva), providing a reliable hermetic seal that prevents the ingress of bacteria and fluids. Its unique composition allows for easy placement and removal, making it an efficient choice for multi-visit endodontic treatments or temporary inlay/onlay preparations.

Material Type: Vinyl acetate-based hydraulic temporary restorative.

Preparation: Clean and rinse the cavity. While the cavity does not need to be bone-dry, ensure there is no excessive pooling of water.

Application: Use a spatula or plastic instrument to dispense the required amount of Caviton.

Placement: Pack the material directly into the cavity. Contour the surface using a dampened cotton pellet or instrument.

Occlusion: Check the patient's bite to ensure there is no high spot.

Post-Care: Instruct the patient to avoid heavy biting or chewing on the treated tooth for at least 1 hour to allow the surface to harden sufficiently.
