DiaPex® Plus is a calcium hydroxide paste reinforced with iodoform, used as a temporary or permanent root canal filling material following a pulpectomy. It is specifically formulated to treat infected root canals, manage temporary root resorption, and stimulate apexification in teeth with open apices. The material is supplied premixed in a convenient, disposable syringe, ensuring a consistent and smooth consistency for accurate delivery directly into the canal.

Canal Preparation: Perform standard endodontic preparation of the root canal, including cleaning, shaping, and thorough disinfection.

Drying: Dry the canal completely using sterile paper points.

Syringe Setup: Attach a fresh, pre-bent disposable tip to the DiaPex® Plus syringe.

Application: Gently insert the tip into the canal to within 1–2mm of the apex. Carefully dispense the paste while slowly withdrawing the syringe.

Placement Check: Fill the canal completely up to the cervical level without creating voids. Ensure no overfilling occurs beyond the apical foramen.

Sealing: Wipe away any excess material from the access cavity and place a compatible temporary restorative material (such as Caviton or a similar temporary filling).

Removal (if temporary): To remove, use an excavator or file to take out the material before placing the permanent gutta-percha or other final obturation.
