GC Inlay Wax is engineered for precision in the dental laboratory. Key features include:
Low Thermal Contraction: Minimizes shrinkage as the wax cools, ensuring highly accurate patterns for crowns and inlays.
Optimal Carvability: The wax is formulated to be hard but not brittle, allowing for smooth carving without chipping or flaking.
Clean Burnout: Formulated to leave zero residue in the investment mold during the "lost-wax" casting process, ensuring a smooth metal surface.
Excellent Flow: When heated, the wax flows easily into the fine details of the die to capture precise margins
This is a Medium Hardness Inlay Wax produced by GC Corporation. It is a specialized dental laboratory material used to create wax patterns for dental restorations like inlays, onlays, and crowns. The wax is designed to be shaped onto a model and then "invested" so it can be replaced by gold, ceramic, or other dental alloys through the casting process.
Type: Inlay Wax (Medium).
Color: Green (provides high contrast against stone or plaster models for better visibility of margins).
Form: Solid sticks.
Manufacturer: GC Corporation (Tokyo, Japan).
Melting Point: Specifically calibrated for a "Medium" range to allow for adequate working time while setting quickly enough for carving.
Quantity: 60 Sticks per box.
Format: Individual sticks for easy handling and to prevent contamination of the entire batch.
Storage: Should be stored in a cool, dry place to maintain the integrity of the wax’s physical properties.
Heating: Soften the end of a wax stick over a Bunsen burner or using an electric wax heater until it reaches a moldable or fluid state.
Application: Apply the softened wax to the prepared die (model) in layers to build up the desired tooth anatomy.
Carving: Once the wax has cooled slightly, use carving instruments to define the occlusal surfaces and margins.
Casting Preparation: Attach a sprue to the finished wax pattern and proceed with the investment and burnout process according to standard laboratory protocols.
Application: Primarily used in "Indirect" techniques (on a model in a lab), though some medium waxes are stable enough for short-term "Direct" intraoral patterns.
Composition: A blend of natural and synthetic waxes (such as paraffin and carnauba) and resins to achieve specific melting and carving characteristics.
Standard Compliance: Designed to meet professional dental laboratory standards for dimensional stability.
Warranty: As a dental consumable, GC products typically carry a warranty against manufacturing defects such as inconsistencies in material composition or damaged packaging upon arrival.
